Unlock a stronger you in 2025

That’s me!

Here’s a bold claim: exercise is more effective than medication for anxiety. (source: https://bjsm.bmj.com/content/57/18/1203 )

  • More self-control.
  • Less intrusive thoughts.
  • Calmer mind.
  • More positive mind (less depression).

All are proven benefits of exercise.

“But exercise is haaaaaaard!” a voice in your mind says.

Yes.

It is.

Let’s accept that.

But so what?

Should we stop doing all hard things?

If it were easy, everyone would be doing it.

So how do you start doing hard things?

Little by little.

When I restarted exercise after many years of “couch-potato-ing”, you know what I did?

I set a limit of 5 minutes per day.

I told myself: “you are not allowed to exercise for more than 5 minutes!”

Suddenly, all excuses went out of the window

  • “I have no time”
  • “It’s hard”
  • “I will get tired”
  • “I will get sweaty”

Lies, lies, lies.

But you know what happened next?

I was happy to finish the exercise so quickly.

It didn’t disturb my daily life.

In fact, I barely noticed this little 5-minute activity.

And, because of that, I could keep doing it every day – and not get fed up or mentally tired.

I didn’t need willpower.

A couple months later, I started noticing the first effects.

And they were great!

It was the best choice I’ve ever made in relation to my mental health.

So, if you’re on the fence, adopt the 5-minute limit and see how it goes for you.

I talk about it more in this article: Why anxiety scientists like tragic accidents?
