Former Anxiety Sufferer Discovers…

What everybody gets wrong about anxiety

And a little 5-minute “mental shortcut” to anxiety relief – Even when everything else has failed

But first, a short (true) story…

This happened many years ago in New York.

An elderly lady comes into her bank and requests to withdraw 20 dollars.

The bank teller hands her two tens.

The woman says: “No, this is NOT my money. I want MY money!”

The woman is visibly distressed.

The quick-thinking teller gives her four fives (still 20 dollars – the same amount!).

The woman immediately calms down.

She thanks the teller and leaves satisfied.

What happened there?

You see, the woman thought that banks keep the money in separate boxes for each customer.

And she had always deposited fives.

So, she thought that the tens must have been somebody else’s money.

This story has a happy ending – all thanks to the bank teller.

The elderly lady misunderstood how banks worked, but there was a helpful bank teller around to help.

But how many times in life we too misunderstand how things work and suffer needlessly?

Take anxiety as an example.

Did you know that there’s a…

a simple idea that can transform your life and diminish your anxiety within 1 to 3 weeks

even if you’ve suffered from anxiety for years and failed many times

Just like it did in my case.

Just like it did for many others.

But first, who am I and what do I even know about anxiety?

My name is Alex and…

I suffered from anxiety since I was a Kid – but Now I’m (mostly) Anxiety-free

I was able to go from:

  • Crippling social anxiety (having almost no friends, no girlfriend, no social circle)
  • GAD (I was anxious 24/7! Especially at night!)
  • Agoraphobia (I’d leave house only to buy food)
  • Having strong intrusive thoughts (one night, an imaginary bee in my room kept me awake for an hour!)
  • and driving phobia (just thinking of driving was making my palms sweat!)

In fact, my anxiety was so bad that I have almost no photos from my childhood – I was too anxious, embarrassed and shy. This is the only photo of me I could find:

Yet, eventually, I was able to:

  • Become a public speaker (speaking in front of hundreds of people)
  • Start my own business (where I talk to customers every day)
  • Drive my car anywhere I like: from narrow city streets to open highways
  • Talk to strangers: anywhere, anytime, even in a foreign language
  • (mostly) Gain control of my thoughts and emotions

For example, this is me (behind the couple) performing a wedding ceremony in front of a hundred people. In Japanese!

That’s me performing a wedding ceremony

From being too “shy” to take a single photo at home to having me video-recorded from multiple angles in front of hundreds of people?

If you experience anxiety, you may feel “That’s impossible!”

Well, I thought so too, but I’ve done the impossible and I’d like to show you you can do the same.

This page can save you from anxiety and add happy and healthy years to your life!

If you experience more than 5 of the following symptoms, please keep reading

  • Having unexplained chest pains, racing heart, shortness of breath with doctors saying “it’s all in your head”
  • Hating things others don’t worry about like going over bridges, or eating out
  • Worrying you’ll never be normal again
  • Fearing of losing control.
  • Feeling like loneliness is eating you alive
  • Feeling like you’re in a constant fight or flight
  • Feeling like you have to live with this indefinitely
  • Experiencing anxiety attacks at work, feeling embarrassed, so you think of quitting
  • Feeling too anxious to drive, or take public transport
  • Feeling like giving up on yourself
  • Having no friends and/or no partner
  • Feeling like you spend all day just in your own head and not involved in life
  • Not being able to leave the house to go too far
  • Having really bad insomnia
  • Anytime you decide to focus on your breathing rhythm you suddenly feel like you’re out of breath or struggling to breathe
  • Blocking nice people online who did nothing wrong, just because you are horrified for no good reason
  • During panic, your head feels heavy, heart racing, cant breathe as if there’s no oxygen, you feel lightheaded, paralyzed, and experience tremors
  • Some mornings you can’t even get out of bed

If you found more than five points that apply to you, read on.

⬆⬆⬆ These are common experiences of people with anxiety

I’ve had many of them too!

But here’s:

How I was able to recover from GAD, driving anxiety, agoraphobia and social anxiety

My story:

On April 26, 1986, at 1:23 AM, my mother, pregnant with me, was sleeping peacefully in her bed. Meanwhile, 110 km (68 mi) away…

Two powerful explosions rocked the night sky.

These explosions were not like anything the world had ever seen. They were the nuclear explosions at the Chernobyl power plant.

Men played with fire.

This invisible fire burned forests, people, and even concrete. They unleashed 300 Hiroshima bombs’ worth of power onto the sleeping country.

But!

…this danger was kept secret.

In the next few days, my parents enjoyed walks in the park, the gentle radioactive breeze, and breathing the radioactive air.

Luckily, they didn’t experience any adverse effects.

But I did.

When I was born, I looked like a normal baby, but something wasn’t right.

My weak immune system and liver kept me mentally fatigued and often sick.

I also developed all the tell-tale signs of ADHD, and mild autism.

But nobody knew about them at the time. Nobody diagnosed them then.

This potent cocktail of physical and mental handicaps made sure that I was underperforming at school.

I was the smallest and “the slowest” kid of the class.

School was stressful.

I’d get sick in my stomach every morning before school.

But I also realized that sometimes my stress helped me focus.

This is typical in people with ADHD.

The sense of danger, as harmful as it is, can make you function better.

And so, sometimes I would “psych myself up” before any significant challenge in life.

It felt horrible:

Heart ponding.

Palms sweating.

Mouth dry.

But this stress would help me avoid failing tests, so, for me, it was worth it.

But I would pay a heavy price for it.

When I went to college, studying only got harder.

Me in Med School. Trying to look normal despite the stress.

Subconsciously, I thought: “I am stressed, but it’s not working. I need more motivation. I need more fear, more anxiety.”

And so, I pushed myself to the point when I had a mental breakdown.

It was followed by depression that lasted well into my twenties.

When I was 24, I seriously contemplated suicide.

I didn’t want to live.

I suffered every day.

I had failed everything there was to fail: no strong relationships, no stable job, no valuable possessions or good hobbies.

I wanted it to end.

At some point, I decided to end my life.

And so, I planned on where, when and how I would do it.

In my mind, I was already dead.

But then something occurred to me: wouldn’t it be wasteful?

All the time, effort and money that my parents had put into me over the years…

Was I just going to bury them in the ground with me?

Being wasteful is not how I wanted to leave this world.

So, instead of ending my life, I decided to change it.

I didn’t know how, but I thought: “I can always end it, so why not at least try to be useful – one more time?”

I decided to move to Japan.

When I moved there, I soon got a job as teacher at a kindergarten.

My students on Halloween

And I was surprised.

You’d think that the job was primarily teaching phonics, English and art, right?

It turns out, a kindergarten teachers job is primarily helping kids develop life skills and learn to manage their emotions.

Sure, if you can teach them ABCs and numbers – that’s great too!

And that’s when I realized:

I had no idea how to manage MY OWN emotions, I realized that I MYSELF didn’t have solid life skills.

If I failed at something, I’d tell myself: “oh, not this again, you dumb*ss!”

I and my students (“sunglasses” – for privacy)

But I would never say anything like that to any of my students.

I had always treated them with respect and dignity.

I cared for them, helped them and taught them.

I was patient and kind.

So, why not apply this attitude to myself?

I knew I had to change.

That’s when my anxiety liberation began.

This is the “mental shortcut” I mentioned earlier.

It takes minutes to understand but it can empower and liberate you forever.

And when I adopted this mental shortcut my life began to change.

The right Way to heal your anxiety and make It go away

I realized that anxiety was like an injury.

You feel pain, you feel discomfort, you have limitations, but nothing you actively do makes the pain stop.

You can’t “make it go away”.

You need to heal it.

And you need to know HOW TO heal it.

Imagine if you broke your leg, but didn’t know what to do…

Imagine that there were no doctors, no hospitals, no help.

And it’s not difficult to imagine.

We don’t have anyone who can help with our anxiety.

Only we can help ourselves.

So, what would you do if you broke your leg and nobody could help you?

You’d still walk in pain and use the leg every day.

You’d suffer.

You’d cry from pain.

You’d avoid walking as much as possible.

You’d limit yourself.

Does this sound familiar?

Yes!

This is how anxiety changes our lives!

It limits us, it makes us suffer.

Luckily, we all know that if we break a leg we need to rest.

We need care.

We need self-care.

The same idea works for anxiety too.

You need self-care, but only The True Self-care

Turns out, there are right and wrong ways to give yourself the care you need.

And you need to know HOW TO take care of yourself.

A 2023 research found why so many people are wrong about self-care.

You see, people think that self-care means self-compassion.

And yes, you do need self-compassion.

But self-compassion alone won’t help you.

You need one more component that makes self-care active.

Just like if your child were hungry you wouldn’t just say: “oh, you poor thing”, and then leave the room.

No.

You’d be active about helping the child.

When you change your approach from merely “fighting” anxiety to active self-care, you will find that you can:

  • Be the normal, happy and cheerful you again
  • Learn to cope actively and succeed
  • Begin to look forward to your life
  • Get back into work (if you choose to)
  • Be happy
  • Be able to live a quiet, peaceful life
  • Get your body back
  • Get back out there in the world
  • Be able to get off of all your meds
  • Be able to live your life with your friends
  • Be able to drive again on motorways – anywhere you want to go.
  • Be able to stop the fear
  • Take the power back in your life
  • See things and people for what and who they are, not what anxiety tells you

Self-care is not selfish. It’s the only way to recover.

How do I know?

I’ve done it.

Following this epiphany as a kindergarten teacher, I spent years trying to heal my anxiety.

I studied, I read and I learned.

I tried supplements.

I tried meditation, affirmations, psychological techniques, diets.

I even changed jobs several times.

Most things didn’t work.

But some did, and I kept them in my life.

Slowly, I was starting to feel better and better.

Me, in a crowded, loud place. AND I WAS OK!

Then 2020 rolled in and tested how well I had learned my lessons.

You may remember this year as the year of COVID-19.

But for me it was much more.

Within this one year:

  1. I lost both of my jobs and so I had no income anymore.
  2. My son (who was just a toddler) had eye cancer.
  3. I started my business but my business partner suddenly left.

I can not describe all the suffering and pain I went through.

But the years of learning paid off.

I was able to deal with my stress.

I was able to keep my head cool and deal with the problems.

We won against cancer.

After my son’s eye was removed to prevent cancer spreading to his body.

I managed to keep my business running, and I managed to replace my income from the two lost jobs.

All thanks to the skills I had learned.

And yet…

I still didn’t believe in their value.

I thought:

Sure, I could overcome my anxiety, my fears and Worries. But that’s just me, right?

It took another tragedy for me to change my mind.

On February 24th 2022 I received a voice message from my mother:

“The war has begun. We hear the explosions”.

My family is from Ukraine.

I hope nobody ever has to hear these words.

But I did.

An explosion within 2-minute walking distance from my parents’ house. That’s my university’s campus!

Ukraine was invaded and so, as many other Ukrainians, I did my best to help.

But what could I do?

I was just a teacher, I was living in Japan!

So, I did what I could.

I volunteered to help Ukrainian refugee children in Japan.

I also organized workshops and courses by trained psychologists specializing in war-related and general mental trauma.

During these training sessions, I discovered something surprising.

I realized that my previous pain and suffering had taught me valuable skills.

Sometimes, I would recommend a technique that I had developed for myself and the participants would comment on how helpful it was.

Trained psychologists said: “this is a great technique, I will use it in my practice”

What I had learned prior to the war could be used by others to deal with stress, trauma and anxiety by anyone – in any circumstances.

What’s more, keeping it to myself, would be a waste.

So, I started posting content online, participating in online forums and just helping people who find themselves in challenging situations in life.

Many people contacted me saying words like: “Thank you very much for posting this”

“It really spoke to me”

“This is really helpful”

“You have such amazing posts about anxiety”

“Not many people have been able to reach me that way”

Of course, I’d like to take all the credit for being so smart and knowledgeable.

But the truth is…

I just learned to avoid the suffering and heal the wounds.

No magic. Just practical psychology that makes sense.

And I’m happy to share what I learned so that you don’t have to suffer as I did.

So, this is why I decided to create a course on how to outsmart anxiety.

If you ever find yourself in a dark, scary and uncertain place in life, it can help.

“But will it work for me?”

My answer is this: if you’re able to read this text or tie your shoes, then you can defeat your anxiety.

You’ve learned how to read.

Reading is way harder than dealing with anxiety.

Of course, if you have GAD (like I used to), then let me be straight with you.

It won’t completely go away.

But you can manage it.

You can weaken it.

You may even forget how it used to feel – being worried all the time.

Funny thing:

the more anxious you Are Now the Better you’ll feel – Faster!

Just look at what others who have tried my course said:

(note: I edited their photos to protect their privacy)

As I read this, it felt like someone was telling my story with a slight twist. It really opened my eyes to so much about life that I hadn’t considered before. I felt a genuine sense of relief while reading it.

I didn’t realize how many people share the same feelings. We live in such a judgmental world that many of us don’t speak up out of fear of being judged. This course gave me a real sense of encouragement and motivation.

“Outsmart Anxiety” gives the reader a different way to view and tackle your anxieties based on the author’s personal experience.

I didn’t really expect too much at first due to similar books I’ve read but I was pleasantly surprised how this course hit all the right spots on my personal anxieties.

It may not be as extreme as the author’s life story but it was still a motivating narration that I could use in my day to day life. The narration felt like a conversation between the reader and the author that made me breeze through the book. That being said, it does need a bit of time adjusting to the book’s format due to its narration.

But overall, from turning your anxiety into fuel to fight it to even a section on overcoming being a pushover, needless to say I’ll be coming back to this book in the future.

My anxiety developed later in life. My childhood was happy, and I maintained an optimistic outlook well into adulthood. However, a series of unfortunate events led to a downward spiral into depression and anxiety. Finding this book felt like discovering a lifeline. It helped me identify my own type of anxiety.

I followed the tips the author suggested and – guess what – it worked!

My favorite part was the connection between anxiety, behavior, and self-talk in children and adults. It focuses that kids express anxiety more openly, while adults tend to internalize stress, leading to patterns of self-blame and negative self-talk. Learning to address anxiety with empathy, rather than reprimanding, is essential.

Unlike any other books which are based on theoretical approach for anxiety. This book is different due to its practical approach to deal with anxiety which offers a great tools and techniques to find relief.
